We are hiring for Full Time Meter Readers in Alamogordo, NM! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

Work is expected to start end of September/beginning of October

All of our field staff are provided with:

• Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
• Company Vehicle
• Paid Training 
• Paid on a piece work basis which allows you to earn in excess of $20+/hour!
• Benefits include medical and dental insurance, vacation & holiday pay, 401K plan with possibility of overtime paid at time and a half  

Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for reading electric utility meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues. 

Requirements: 

• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record
• Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately

Working Conditions and Hours: 

• Outdoor work environment
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; limited work hours on weekends except for periodic on-call duty and mass workloads
• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities: 

• Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
