Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,133 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN PCU (Progressive Care Unit) for a 13‑week assignment in Louisville, Kentucky. Job Summary Travel RN position. Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Step‑down RN Current valid RN license in Kentucky Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred: Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification Preferred: NIHSS certification Other related certifications may be required Essential Functions Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care. Prepares equipment and aids physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisors or physicians of patient status and response to interventions. Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information. Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and to use basic computer skills. Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use department equipment. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under occasional close supervision, maintain focus on details.
