Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning, and oversee tax compliance for a diverse client portfolio. This leadership role is responsible for managing tax projects, reviewing complex tax returns, mentoring staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients on tax strategy and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting or corporate tax background, excellent technical tax knowledge, leadership experience, and outstanding client relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee complex tax engagements from planning through completion.

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for business and individual clients.

• Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for accuracy and compliance.

• Monitor changes in tax laws and advise clients on their impact.

• Identify tax savings opportunities and minimize client tax exposure.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals.

• Review staff workpapers and provide technical guidance.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

• Communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Coordinate with accounting and finance teams on tax-related matters.

• Identify process improvements and implement best practices.

• Ensure engagements are completed within deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA license strongly preferred.

• 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax.

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Experience with tax planning, tax compliance, and tax return review.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.

• Experience using tax preparation, tax research, and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Taxation or related field.

• Experience working with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.

• Experience with partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced tax technology platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $100,000-$175,000 (DOE)

• Annual Bonus: Approximately 10% of base salary

• Comprehensive Benefits Package

• Profit Sharing after one year of employment
