SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties. Learn more about this agency Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Force Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Senior ART/ Commander of the Logistics Readiness Squadron. Functions as the senior technical advisor as well as the supervisor of logistics readiness operations including but not limited to: readiness; logistics planning; resource management; supply and transportation support; procedures and systems; etc. Provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of the tasks set forth herein.
- DUTY 1: Serves as the focal point for squadron/wing logistics readiness support for contingencies, peacetime and deployment requirements.
- DUTY 2: Provides technical advice and assistance to wing leadership on business processes and performance and efficiency of logistics readiness functions of the squadron/wing.
- DUTY 3: As the squadron senior technical advisor on logistics readiness and AEF issues, performs/leads studies, and provides technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of readiness mission capabilities.
- DUTY 4: Represents the wing regarding logistics readiness issues at meetings within the organization and at conferences with MAJCOM, HQ USAF, DoD, and other agencies.
- DUTY 5: Plans, organizes, and maintains oversight of the activities of the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring the planning efforts and work products and services of all the squadron functions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- This position is for an Air Force Reserve Technician (ART) Officer. Serves as the Senior ART/Commander of Logistics Readiness Squadron.

- This posn is subject to provision of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application.

- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

- Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement
- Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include cargo movement, supply requirements, structure and processes, equipment and vehicles management, storage, deployment planning and operations, global fuels and cryogenics, and logistic plans under peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the squadron.
- Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
- Skill in analyzing issues and formulating solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning base readiness. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY.
- Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion as directed by HQAFRC.
- This is a key management position in which the incumbent is required to formulate, determine or influence training policies of the unit to which assigned.
- The incumbent must possess demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities essential to successful accomplishment of the responsibilities inherent in a senior command position
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
