Estimator and Scheduling Manager - Construction

Sr. Estimating/Scheduling Manager NORESCO, a Carrier company, is seeking an experienced Sr. Estimating/Scheduling Manager to lead our estimating and scheduling teams, develop best practices, and manage project cost and schedules. Responsibilities Develop and maintain estimating standards, procedures, and best practices. Standardize scheduling procedures, templates, and best practices. Manage and mentor estimating and scheduling teams. Work with project teams to develop estimates, constructability reviews, and project proposals. Attend pre‑bid meetings and site walkthroughs. Identify, review, and manage risk associated with work in development and under contract. Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates using RSMeans or alternate estimating tools. Collaborate with engineering group to refine scopes for costing. Solicit subcontractor and vendor pricing, ensuring proper trade coverage. Validate subcontractor quotes and compute cost factors for bids, change orders, and planning. Ensure diversity sourcing goals meet project criteria. Oversee bid process: finalizing bid packages, coordinating walks, reviewing proposals, and final costing. Assist project managers with cost budget review and turnover information. Visit job sites to observe and discuss construction issues. Maintain and develop cost database, job cost history, and internal cost records. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree. 6+ years of field experience in construction or facility improvements with constructability feedback. 4+ years of experience estimating and scheduling for a construction company, emphasizing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation. Preferred Master’s degree. Self‑driven, motivated with minimal direction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure. Experience in a mechanical subcontractor environment. Experience estimating scope with incomplete drawings/specifications. Experience creating RFPs and evaluating subcontractor bids. Experience developing project scope and constructability input for mechanical/E&P/automation projects. Proficient with RSMeans estimating tools. Willing to work 40+ hours/week, up to 50% travel nationwide. Ability to read and understand contract and construction documents. Knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, and DDC system operation for retrofit and replacement. Advanced Excel skills, including multiple worksheets and workbooks. Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel. Compensation Annual salary: $96,000–$192,000, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Short‑term cash incentives subject to plan requirements.
