We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist – Enabling Technologies to join our Neuroscience Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit. The role is field‑based, requiring residency within the territory, a valid driver’s license, and frequent travel throughout the region. Responsibilities Coordinate, support, and collaborate with NRCs and other Surgical Synergy team members for on‑site installations with customers. Represent Medtronic during technology‑enabled procedures, providing technical assistance. Maintain system hardware and software, perform upgrades and preventive maintenance, and use UNIX/LINUX commands to modify operating files. Provide telephone clinical support and fulfill software and service contract obligations. Act as the primary Medtronic customer liaison for repair and technical support issues, reporting concerns, issues, and market opportunities to the district team. File weekly site visit and customer contact reports for service improvement purposes. Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel on technical matters related to our technology‑enabled procedures. Provide clinical resources for surgeons and clinicians during training sessions. Conduct train‑the‑trainer sessions to enable hospital staff to train their personnel. Train and continually support the Surgical Synergy Clinical Support team on new procedures. Collaborate with NRCs, Spinal Sales, and Neuroscience Representatives to identify prospective new users for Navigation and Robotics. Attend sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed, submitting required reports and information. Support complex, new image‑guided products and applications to physicians and hospital staff. Work with the Surgical Synergy Region Manager and CSM to prioritize customer technical support and service expectations. Provide input on new product development based on in‑field experience. Document installations and maintain adherence to company policies and ethical business conduct. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of 6 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience, or Associate’s Degree with a minimum 4 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience, or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience. RT and/or MRI certification – Nice to have. Prior experience with image‑guided systems. Prior MRI operating room experience. Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; driving record will be reviewed. Ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory and may require overnight travel. Physical & Job Requirements Work with universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation. Serve as the primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events; may need weekend, evening, night, and overnight travel. Work efficiently and autonomously with minimal supervision during clinical events. Attend national, district meetings and training as requested. Wear a 7‑9 lbs protective lead apron for extended periods in the operating room. Lift up to 40 pounds and be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and balance frequently. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus while operating a computer.
