Senior Financial Consultant

Overview Kearney & Company is a leading accounting firm specialized in government financial services for the Department of War. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to conduct detailed financial analysis, develop budgets, perform cost estimation, and provide recommendations to optimize financial resources for our government/Department of War client. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive financial analysis including budgeting, decision support, financial execution, data analysis, continuous process improvement and business process reengineering, and budget operations across DoW appropriations. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and recommendations. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop financial models and support business initiatives. Assist with development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls. Participate in budget planning and resource allocation processes. Maintain knowledge of Federal/DoW Financial Management trends, regulations, legislation policies, and best practices. Provide guidance and support to junior team members in financial analysis and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 10+ years experience as a DoW Financial Analyst or Budget Analyst. At least 5 years with the Department of the Air Force FM experience. Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, budgeting principles, and cost estimation methods. Proficient in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc. Experience with DoF Financial Accounting and Budgetary systems (DEAMS, CRIS, BQ, FMSuite, AFM, etc.). Familiarity with federal government financial management regulations, OMB Circulars, and FASAB Standards. Ability to go 5 days Onsite at the Pentagon. Active Secret Clearance (or higher Top Secret or TS/SCI) and U.S. citizenship. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration. DAF Reimbursement experience. Experience with higher headquarters programs (PBAS, TMT, Advana, etc.). Relevant certifications: DoD FM Certification, CPA, CGFM, CDFM. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Salary and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $103,000 to $180,000. This range is base pay only and does not include overtime, bonuses, or company contributions. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, clearance level, and other factors.
