Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience in a fast-paced facility License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS NIHSS TNCC Must-Have: Strong experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and critical care medication administration Experience with TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue scenarios Triage experience is strongly preferred Description: This position is in an Emergency Department with a focus on providing care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The average number of patients seen per day is approximately 168, with a mix of medical and trauma cases. The patient ratio is 1:4 in day and night shifts, with fast track patients having a ratio of 1:6, based on acuity. The patient population includes individuals with mental health needs and various emergency medical conditions. Candidates should have experience in a high-volume Emergency Department setting. The role includes working alongside a supportive team including unit secretaries, ED technicians, and a charge nurse available for assistance. Telemetry monitoring is central to patient care in this setting, utilizing electronic charting systems. Weekend rotation is expected every other week, with holiday availability required for two out of four major holidays. Scrubs of any professional color are permitted for this position.
