R10091019 Applications Engineer (Open) Location: Twinsburg, OH (AES) – Management – ALTEC Atlanta, GA (APG) – Bulk cryo logistics – ANC Overview As a member of the Airgas ALTEC Engineering Solutions Group based in the Cleveland, Ohio area, this individual will drive the growth of Airgas’ specialty, industrial, and bulk gas business by designing and installing equipment systems that support our portfolio of gas applications across various industries. Responsibilities Understand technical processes for specific industrial gas applications and develop value propositions using Airgas solutions and equipment. Provide proactive technical sales support and business development for Airgas’ 16 Regional Companies using process knowledge and industry experience. Work with local sales teams to generate leads, prepare and present technical, value‑based proposals to prospects and customers. Manage all aspects of the customer relationship: from initial contact and problem identification to applications/equipment selection, data analysis, system development, proposal, equipment specification, start‑up, and long‑term support. Identify and develop new products and applications. Interface with regional account managers, bulk gas specialists, equipment engineers, marketing teams, customers, and vendors. Maintain knowledge of industry standards, gas properties, and thermodynamics. Create training materials and conduct training sessions for internal and external stakeholders. Possibly assist in the development, oversight, and training of Equipment Engineers and Applications Engineers. Report to the Director of Chemicals, Environment & Technical Solutions within the ALTEC Engineered Solutions team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. 3–10 years of applications engineering or direct industry experience. Willingness to travel domestically up to approximately 50% (including overnight stays). Availability to work weekends and/or holidays as needed. Benefits Salary Range: $105,000 – $130,000.
