What’s a typical day as a Procurement Specialist? You’ll be:
  • Supporting sourcing activities from requirements intake through supplier recommendation, negotiation support, and contract execution.
  • Handling supplier communications, including coordinating pre-bid questions, site walk logistics, proposal tracking, and response clarifications.
  • Conducting thorough commercial analyses, preparing bid comparison matrices, evaluating proposals, and supporting award recommendations.
  • Coordinating with legal and contract resources, supporting purchase order and contract documentation, and maintaining clear records of decisions and unresolved risks.
  • Tracking open purchasing actions, stakeholder inputs, legal/commercial issues, and procurement deadlines to ensure project milestones are met.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of procurement, sourcing, or contract administration experience, with a minimum of two years specifically in construction procurement.
  • Are skilled in understanding complex procurement requirements, commercial objectives, and supplier qualification criteria.
  • Possess strong communication skills and can work effectively with technical stakeholders in a confidential, policy-driven environment.
  • Have experience with construction categories such as general contractors, civil/site work, and building systems.
  • Excel at preparing sourcing summaries, RFQ/RFP packages, bid comparison matrices, risk/issue summaries, and status reports.
