The selected candidates will be responsible for technical leadership for the SEIT department’s Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or Mission Architecting utilizing MBSE. This role encompasses team leadership, management, and technical performance.NGMS is a leading global provider, manufacturer and integrator of advanced, secure and agile software-defined systems and solutions. Our SEIT organization provides complex avionics systems in Targeting, EOIR, and RF technology areas.Consulting Engineer Systems Architect Job Description:Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of mission and total system products to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.As a Consulting Engineer System Architect, you will be expected to demonstrate the following behaviors:Knowledge, Skills and Ability - Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business.Basic Qualifications for Consulting Engineer System Architect:BS degree in electrical, mechanical, systems engineering or related STEM degree with at least 16 years of related experience required, or 14 years with Master’s, or 12 years with a PhD.Prior experience negotiating with customers to convert customer needs into testable system requirementsExpertise in model-based systems engineering tools, frameworks, languages and concepts. SysML experience preferredExperience performing optimum system function allocation to hardware and software requirementsDemonstrated success in developing descriptive and analytical models that prove the system satisfies requirements and the ability to quickly capture and process data in tools like MATLAB for debugging and specification verificationExcellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work in an integrated product team environmentExperience working on Department of Defense contractsCandidate must be a US CitizenCurrent active Secret (or higher) security clearancePreferred Qualifications for Consulting Engineer System Architect:Experience in Mission Architecting and performing Operations Analysis to trade mission-level concept of operations (CONOPS) and derive mission system requirements utilizing model-based systems engineeringExperience capturing system requirements and implementing descriptive system level models and architectures in tools such as Rhapsody, Cameo, Capella or DOORSPrior experience designing hardware, firmware, and programming software to best allocate functions for each productAbility to monitor hardware and software design teams with critical insight to know when the teams are not on path to successful implementation and then be able help steer the team to a successful solutionExperience in architecting Electronic Warfare RF systems and/or Electro-optical / Infrared (EOIR) countermeasure and targeting systemsActive Top Secret security clearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $202,500.00 - $303,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
