Summary:
Seeking a Materials Engineering Lab Technician to support a materials engineering and testing laboratory. This hands-on role involves metallurgical sample preparation, materials testing, validation, failure analysis, microscopy, environmental testing, data analysis, and technical report writing. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
Required / Mandatory Skills:

• Metallurgical sample preparation and evaluation
• Materials testing and validation
• Optical microscopy and digital imaging
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Technical report writing and data analysis
• Experience using hardness testing equipment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment

Nice to Have:

• Failure analysis and fractography experience
• Materials laboratory experience
• Accelerated environmental testing experience
• Coating performance and validation testing experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, and welding
• Experience handling chemicals and following laboratory safety procedures
• Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
