Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Augustana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Financial Aid. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting students and families through the financial aid process while assisting in the administration of institutional, state, federal, and private financial aid programs. The Assistant Director will collaborate across campus to support enrollment initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a student-centered financial aid experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

Counseling students and families regarding scholarships, need analysis, FAFSA completion, financing options, and financial aid processesConstructing and managing financial aid awards for undergraduate and graduate studentsPresenting at on-campus and off-campus eventsMonitoring regulatory updates and participating in the development of innovative financial aid strategiesParticipating in office policy development and continuous process improvement efforts

Required qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of three years of experience in higher education, preferably in financial aid or enrollment servicesKnowledge of federal and state financial aid regulationsStrong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and constituenciesExperience with higher education systems such as Jenzabar, COD, NSLDS, ARMS, Award Management, or related systems preferred
