Senior Network Engineer with TS/SCI, FS (Network Engineering, Associate)

Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with TS/SCI, FS (Network Engineering, Associate) to support a federal government client in the Washington, DC metro area. This position requires a full on‑site schedule. The position is currently unfunded and is posted in anticipation of future contract award and funding approval. Responsibilities Assisting the System Administrators Assisting the Lead Network Engineer in developing and implementing IT/network plans Managing network operations using SNMP network management tools Diagnosing and troubleshooting network problems with network protocol capture/decoding analyzers Planning and building network from OSI Layer 1 through Layer 3 Managing TCP/IP internetworking connectivity, including addressing and subnetting Monitoring network as defined in the network monitoring plan Installing, configuring, updating, and documenting physical cable plant and networking hardware (switches, bridges, hubs, concentrators, transceivers); managing network security (firewalls, IP blocking) Configuring and managing virtual private networks (VPNs) Travel None Required Qualifications Seven (7) years of intelligence community experience as a network engineer or network administrator Six (6) years’ experience with Cisco switches and network hardware Willingness and ability to perform Layer 1 tasks (pulling cable, racking/stacking, etc.) Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to use MS Visio to produce network diagrams Ability to create and present presentations and other ad‑hoc technical briefings as necessary Familiarity with virtual appliances (switches, firewalls, etc.) Must be able to survive and thrive in a fast‑paced environment Desired Qualifications 3-5 years of hands‑on network engineering experience in a customer environment Strong project management experience (ability to manage projects through their full lifecycle to meet deadlines) Familiarity with Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Fibre Channel protocols and standards Familiarity with Linux operating systems Familiarity with SolarWinds network management/monitoring tool Familiarity with JIRA Experience working in a mission‑like environment Cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure) Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or four (4) years equivalent experience as network engineer or network technician. Clearance All applicants must possess an active Top Secret/SCI with FS Poly clearance. Compensation The projected compensation range is $125,000 – $200,000 per year. Final salary is determined based on qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations.
