Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers that has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to Rockdale County and surrounding communities since 1954. We offer 24-hour emergency care, plus most major medical, surgical and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities: The Nurse Extern, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care to patients from birth through the lifecycle. This care includes utilizing treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the pre-licensure nurse in the clinical setting per hospital policy.

Qualifications: Education

• A student currently enrolled in and progressing through an accredited nursing program and successfully completed the first Med/Surg rotation. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program Preferred or
• Certification in phlebotomy Preferred or
• Certification in ECG Preferred
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program Preferred
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Preferred
• BECG - Basic Ecg Preferred
