Research Associate, Automation & Assays

Prime Medicine seeks a Research Associate to execute biochemical and cell-based assays using automated systems and support daily lab operations. This hands-on role focuses on generating high-quality data across multiple gene-editing therapeutic programs under established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing and analysis of research and process development samples using established assays
• Execute biochemical, ELISA, and cell-based assays on automated liquid handling systems following SOPs
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and assay-ready plates; maintain cell cultures for routine support
• Record experimental data accurately in electronic lab notebook with full documentation and data integrity
• Manage lab operations including inventory, consumable restocking, equipment maintenance, and organization

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences preferred
• 3–5+ years hands-on wet-lab experience with diagnostics, precision work, and SOP compliance
• Proficiency in core wet-lab techniques including pipetting, dilutions, and solution preparation
• Experience with automated liquid handling systems and biochemical or cell-based assays
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately in electronic lab notebooks
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced team environments
