Assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle. Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraints during trip. Operate radio, cell phone, or pager to communicate with base station or other vehicles and report disruptions. Maintain all community vehicles in good working condition. Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories. Assist with vehicle registration and license plate renewal process. Inspect and document vehicle condition monthly and per trip. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around community grounds as assigned. Complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment, and vehicles in a timely and cost‑efficient manner. Carry out tasks such as fixing wall and/or floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, performing basic plumbing work, minor electrical repairs, repairing appliances, painting and refurbishing, working with heating and air systems, refrigeration systems, carpet and hard surface maintenance, and “make ready” rooms as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 21 years or older. Current commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required with acceptable driving record in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations. Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting. Knowledge of safety precautions; compliance with safety measures. Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills. One year maintenance experience. Ability to be on call if needed. General understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and code compliance. Knowledge of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations. Availability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving, and decision making.
