Position: PT Barista Location: Lakeland, FL Job Id: 496 # of Openings: 1 POSITION PURPOSE: The Barista/Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, small food items and other beverages while interacting with guests in a positive, friendly and efficient manner. ** Weekend Availability Required ** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Opens and closes the coffee shop according to established policies and procedures Communicates with guests to take food and beverage orders Operates espresso machine and other shop equipment in order to prepare drinks and pastries Provides outstanding customer service and engage in suggestive selling Maintains equipment, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots breakdowns and/or calls for repairs Assists in stocking food and beverage items as needed Performs cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting Ensures the coffee shop adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service Ensures the daily operation of the coffee shop adheres to operating procedure guidelines Assists in other positions in the F&B team as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Qualifications and Skills Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands, including nights, weekends and Holidays as needed Some High School education or equivalent Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands Experience utilizing basic math skills with ability to add, subtract multiply and divide Proven customer service skills and communication skills; able to read and interpret English language manuals relating to safety, operations, and procedures Desired Qualifications and Traits Previous experience demonstrating strong customer service Prior experience utilizing restaurant equipment and sanitation standards Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal direction Previous experience with cash transactions and Point of Sale systems Proven teamwork skills REQUIREMENTS: Pass a background check and mandatory drug test PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
