Position Title: Cook Assistant Requisition Number: H01981P Position Category: Hourly/Work Study Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week: 15 Months per year: 9 Alternate work schedule: Monday through Friday following the WSU Charter Academy 2026-27 calendar Typical afternoon hours can vary between 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Hours are flexible depending on the student’s schedule. Pay Grade: Salary hourly pay rate $12.00 Job Summary/Basic Function Kitchen Organization and Inventory Organize kitchen supplies, food items, and storage areas. Rotate inventory using proper food safety procedures. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Monitor supply levels and report shortages to supervising staff. Label and organize food items and kitchen materials. Cleaning and Sanitation Wash dishes, utensils, and food preparation equipment. Clean countertops, tables, sinks, and food preparation areas. Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and serving areas. Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately. Follow all sanitation, food safety, and health department requirements. Other tasks in the Charter Academy as assigned. Required Qualifications Food Handler’s Permit Preferred Qualifications Experience working with food and large kitchen equipment.
