ALEC is looking for a CFO to join our team.Summary: The CFO is responsible for the effective management, operation, results and strategic advancement of the Finance, Accounting, and Operations departments.Essential Functions:Manages the overall financial activities of the credit union, including the preparation and interpretation of financial statements, asset liability management, investing and budgetingProvides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectivesPrepares all credit union financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable federal and state regulatory laws for financial reportingProduces all financial and statistical reports for presentation to the Board of DirectorsProvides management with analysis and advice on the financial implications of business activitiesResponsible for the preparation of the annual budget along with financial forecastingProvides CEO with recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunitiesManages and optimizes the organization's investment portfolio in order to achieve the organizational investment goals of liquidity, safety and returnOversees and manages the preparation and submission of the 5300 Call ReportPrepares monthly reports and analysis to the ALCO committeeReports financial results at monthly board meetingsSupervises the budget for the Finance, Accounting, and Operations departments to ensure they are consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit unionNegotiates significant vendor contracts and completes the vendor management processOther duties as may be assignedQualifications:Education Required: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designationEducation Preferred: Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA)Experience Required: 8 years of progressive, strategic management experience in an accounting or finance roleKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Ability to assess, plan and deliver strategic initiativesAbility to perform job functions independentlyAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to resolve complex problems with independent actionAbility to effectively present information to employees, Senior Management and the Board of DirectorsAbility to verbally communicate effectively with internal and/or external membersAbility to use computers and job-specific technology/software efficientlyMaintains confidentialityPerforms responsibilities with composure, quality and accuracy under stress of deadlines/requirementsAbility to attract, develop and retain talent and build high performing teamsSupervisory Responsibilities:Responsible for overseeing employees' performance, identifying development areas, addressing employee relations issues and providing direction, support, training and regular coaching.Responsible for communicating organizational needs and updatesSupervises: Accounting Director, Operations Manager, and Finance ManagerTravel: Up to 10% local travel. Up to 10% national travel may be required to attend conferences and visit micro branches.The base pay for this position is $217,901.33 to $363,168.89 per hour.
