Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse who will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to neuro-related patients in a certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. This position also involves providing support for other patient populations in a telemetry overflow capacity, allowing the nurse to refine their skills beyond the neuro specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with neuro-related diagnoses.
• Assist in monitoring and managing telemetry patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct patient assessments and interpret EKG strips.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including infection control protocols.
• Manage and care for various medical devices, including feeding tubes, central lines, and tracheostomies.
• Support patients and families through education regarding treatment plans and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of neurology and telemetry nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Basic EKG testing skills; training provided if necessary.
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license.

Schedule

This position involves a day shift schedule, working 3x12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
