Beach Lifeguards Beach Lifeguards play an essential role in daily beach operations by actively monitoring waterfront conditions, enforcing safety procedures, and maintaining clean and organized facilities. This role supports the Village’s Arts & Athletics program for children ages 7–12 from 2:15–4:15 p.m., while also ensuring the safety of all beach and park visitors. Camp Counselors – Camp‑Ya‑Gotta‑Wanna The Village of Maple Bluff is seeking energetic, responsible individuals to serve as Camp Counselors for Camp‑Ya‑Gotta‑Wanna. The role involves creating a fun, safe, and educational experience for children ages 3–7 in a supportive outdoor environment. Counselors lead age‑appropriate activities, foster positive relationships with campers and families, and serve as enthusiastic role models throughout the summer season. Assistant Fire Chief Full‑time leadership position operating under the direction of the Fire Chief / EMS Director, serving as a key member of the department’s command staff. The Assistant Fire Chief supports and coordinates daily fire, rescue, EMS, training, prevention, and operational activities while implementing strategic direction and organizational priorities. The position operates on a 48/96 shift rotation and requires participation in department training, meetings, and community events. Key Responsibilities Support operational readiness and personnel development. Coordinate emergency response and training initiatives. Maintain long‑term workforce stability. Participate in shift training, meetings, and community events. Qualifications & Experience State of Wisconsin Advanced EMT license required. Three (3) years experience as an active firefighter with increasing levels of responsibility. Coursework toward a fire science degree desirable. Wisconsin Entry Level Driver/Operator Pumper (or higher). Fire officer/incident command experience highly desirable. ICS 100 & 200 required; ICs 300 & 400 within one year. Benefits Competitive salary ($76,000–$88,000 dependent upon qualifications). Internship Program (Firefighter/EMT) The Maple Bluff Fire Rescue Department offers internships that provide fire and EMS experience as well as opportunities to obtain EMT certification and the Wisconsin Firefighter II Certification while completing an associate’s degree in Fire Science from Madison Area Technical College. Qualifications / Requirements At least 18 years of age. High school graduate or high school equivalency diploma. Enrollment in or waiting list for the Fire Science Associate’s Degree Program at Madison College. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Good mental and physical health. Pass a physical agility/written examination. Pass a pre‑employment medical/drug screening. Paid‑On‑Call Firefighters & EMT At least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent. Pass a criminal background check. Pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen. Live or work within approximately 15 minutes of the MBFD station. Fire Department Auxiliary Assist with fundraising. Provide rehabilitation aid during long duration incidents. Plan and assist with public events. Promote educational and social goals of the department. Relief Officers Relief Officers work as fill‑in supervisors for MBFD full‑time staff, performing maximum 1,100 hours per year on a fill‑in, as‑needed basis. Supervise firefighting, hazardous materials, EMS, and rescue incidents. Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Participate in administrative meetings and community events as directed. Law Enforcement Officer (General Duties) Operate a law enforcement vehicle during emergency situations. Exercise independent judicial decision making for detentions and arrests. Patrol and enforce city ordinances. Respond to a wide variety of calls for service. Interview witnesses, suspects, and victims. Prepare investigative reports and submit court documents. Serve warrants and subpoenas. Perform surveillance and evidence collection. Provide first aid, CPR, and use AED at emergencies. Operate agency firearms safely. Carry out all lawful assignments as prescribed by the Chief of Police.
