Serving approximately 14,000 students in Oregon’s southern Willamette Valley, Eugene School District 4J is a large, complex school system with a long tradition of educational excellence, innovation, and community engagement. Its schools include neighborhood and alternative programs, multiple language immersion pathways, and International Baccalaureate opportunities—all within a community that places a high value on public education.

Eugene 4J is seeking an accomplished financial leader to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the Superintendent and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO provides strategic leadership for the District’s financial and business operations and helps ensure its long-term fiscal well-being. The CFO leads financial planning and forecasting, budgeting, accounting and reporting, internal controls, procurement, capital finance, and compliance, ensuring that financial resources and decisions are aligned with the District’s educational goals and strategic priorities.

The CFO works closely with the Superintendent and executive leadership team on significant strategic and operational initiatives; leads and develops a high-performing Financial Services team; and advances modern, effective financial systems and processes with a commitment to excellent service and continuous improvement. The CFO also plays an important role in helping the Board, Budget Committee, staff, and community understand complex financial information and the implications of key financial decisions.
