RESEARCH DATA SPECIALIST II

Data Specialist – Research Data Specialist II Position in the Office of Project Development Management and Delivery (PDMD) with a salary of $7,640.00 – $9,561.00 per month. New to state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary for the classification or the alternate minimum whenever applicable. Location: 1120 N St, Sacramento, CA (headquarters). Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance the PDMD performance measures program, including project delivery databases and key performance indicators. Assess risk, performance metrics, and monitor performance goals across transportation projects. Act as the data Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PDMD and other offices, advising the Office Chief and management on future data needs. Conduct research and analysis to solve complex data requirements and identify strategies for more efficient data processing. Coordinate data migration for programs, assess and configure data platforms, and lead the development of reporting templates. Collaborate with Data and Digital Services and the Data Governance group to design and implement dashboards in coordination with all relevant offices, divisions, and districts. Support telework arrangements when discretion of the Department permits. Minimum Requirements Eligibility for hire determined by the Research Data Specialist II/I examination; must be listed on the state examination list. Completion of the State Examination/Employment Application (Standard Form 678) and submission of proof of qualifications (resume, transcripts, certifications). Demonstrated ability to meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the Classification Specification. Desirable Qualifications Strong analytical skills with experience in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data. Ability to develop formats, present data visually, and use diverse analytical techniques to propose solutions. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, for presenting ideas to diverse stakeholders. Experience working independently on complex projects and leading interdisciplinary teams. Ability to evaluate and monitor the work of consultants and external partners. Working Conditions Position located at 1120 N St Sacramento, Sacramento County. Telework may be offered subject to Department discretion.
