Assembly Lead

Location: Sandy, UT
Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

The Assembly Lead supports hands-on mechanical assembly, medical device sample builds, and daily production planning in a manufacturing and development environment. This role performs the full scope of Assembly 3 responsibilities while helping coordinate daily work, confirm build readiness, communicate priorities, and support team members. The ideal candidate has manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and escalate issues before they affect product quality or build schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on mechanical assembly and medical device sample builds.
• Complete tasks such as chemical mixing, catheter shaft tip forming, catheter coating, guidewire lubrication, sample photography, and sample characterization.
• Prepare samples for conditioning, testing, and quality evaluation.
• Confirm that required materials, equipment, tooling, and staffing are available before builds begin.
• Help organize daily work, coordinate priorities, and communicate schedule changes.
• Collaborate with R&D, ISC Engineering, Assembly team members, Team Leads, and Supervisors to maintain build readiness.
• Answer routine questions, support and guide other assemblers, and assist with training as needed.
• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in assembly processes.
• Perform quality inspections in accordance with established specifications and quality standards.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), scientific methods, safety requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Identify and promptly escalate missing materials, equipment concerns, process abnormalities, or other potential issues.
• Support production and development-build schedules while maintaining accurate, consistent work.
• Rotate between tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
• Mechanical assembly or hands-on build experience preferred.
• Chemical mixing experience is a plus.
• Previous experience organizing daily work, training others, coordinating schedules, or providing team leadership in a manufacturing or development-build environment is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, interpret, and understand written specifications in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use basic measurement tools, including microscopes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with assemblers, engineers, Team Leads, and Supervisors.
• Ability to understand instructions, ask questions when needed, and work independently once tasks and expectations are clear.
• Ability to identify concerns and escalate issues promptly.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work flexible or extended hours when needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations available where applicable.
