Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room — Galax, Virginia. This position provides emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency department. The role supports the assessment and treatment of conditions including sepsis, heart failure, chest pain, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, and trauma.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 36 hours per week, with rotating weekend coverage every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensure and required authorization to practice in Virginia; at least 2 years of experience; American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in emergency room, trauma, and critical care settings.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Emergency department assignment serving patients of all ages, with typical patient ratios of 1:4. Clinical responsibilities may include care for patients with sepsis, heart failure, chest pain, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, and trauma. Blue or black scrubs are required.
