An Automobile Mechanic works in a team-based environment focusing on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role involves hands-on technical work with the use of standard and advanced diagnostic tools to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Interaction with customers and meticulous record keeping are integral to the position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic testing to identify mechanical issues
- Perform engine repair and maintenance tasks
- Maintain and repair brake systems
- Address electrical system faults and repairs
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections
- Replace worn or faulty parts as needed
- Engage with customers to explain repairs and services
- Maintain accurate records of services performed
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in automotive repair
- Proficient in automotive diagnostics
- Experience with engine repair and brake systems
- Knowledge of electrical system troubleshooting
- Strong customer service skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Time management skills
