Police Officer The Bedford Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer. Duties include enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as ordinances of the Town of Bedford. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain Virginia certification as a law enforcement officer, must pass a rigorous background investigation, a physical agility and written aptitude test, a psychological and physical examination. Candidates with current Virginia law enforcement certification or who are currently attending pre-employment certification programs will be given preference.
