Growing together.You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Responsibilities:Codes Emergency Department servicesConfirms documentation supports code selection and resolves facility edits and Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) impactsApplies International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)/Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes and supports charge capture reconciliation and late chargesMeets established quality and productivity standards in a production environmentRequired Qualifications:High School DiplomaRequired Certifications: American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) credential (Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H))1+ years of ED coding experience1+ years of ICD-10 experienceIntermediate familiarity with National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI)/Medically Unlikely Edits (MUE) basics and facility modifier awarenessPreferred Qualifications:Experience with EHR systemsIntermediate level of Microsoft Excel*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
