Make a Difference in the Lives of Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Hawaiʻi Behavioral Health (HBH) is seeking compassionate and motivated Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to provide Training & Consultation (T&C) services through our Developmental Disabilities Division (i/DDD) Waiver Program.
We are currently hiring for positions on:
- Hawaiʻi Island (Big Island) – 1 Opening
- Oʻahu – 1 Opening
In this role, you will support adults (ages 22+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities by partnering with participants, families, caregivers, service supervisors, and direct support staff to develop and implement individualized, person-centered behavior support strategies. Services are guided by each participant's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and are designed to promote independence, enhance quality of life, increase community inclusion, and support meaningful progress toward each individual's personal goals.
Services may be provided in participants' homes, community-based settings (including Adult Day Health Programs & Residential Facilies) or employment locations, as authorized by the ISP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing recommendations to inform the person-centered planning process and support the development of meaningful goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Supervising and monitoring participants, families, caregivers, and providers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with the ISP.
- Developing behavioral support plans and protocols to address identified needs and promote participant well-being.
- Delivering initial and/or ongoing training, instruction, and technical assistance, which may include:
- Supportive counseling to strengthen family systems and promote emotional well-being.
- Instruction on treatment regimens and other services outlined in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) or Action Plan.
- Training for caregivers and providers on the use of equipment or tools specified in the service plan.
- Providing updates and modifications to plans as needed to ensure the participant’s continued safety and success in the home and community.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified BCBA
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas
- Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Must be able to successfully pass all required background screenings and credentialing requirements.
- Must provide/obtain TB clearance/results prior to employment.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required, or willingness to obtain certification prior to providing services.
- Must provide official college transcripts to verify educational requirements.
- Must be able to meet all HBH, DDD, and Medicaid Waiver onboarding and compliance requirements prior to providing services.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Compensation: $70-$75 per hour, based on experience, with separate administrative rates, if applicable.
- This position offers a flexible schedule, with hours ranging from P/T to As Needed basis, depending on referral flow.
