Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION The ProductionZoneLeaderensures that production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company qualitystandards.Theirmain responsibilities will bethe overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the production area, whichmayinclude grading, packing, general floor, equipment, quality assurance and sanitation. Carries out zone leaderresponsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;developing,rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemswithin their scope.In addition, the zone leaderwill drive performance improvement initiatives that will maximize value added time, as well as support performance management processes andcontinuousdevelopment opportunities for employeeswithin theassigned zone.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Providesdaily production plan and priority to all areas within assigned zone. Raises and resolves any customer demand scheduling conflicts. Managesstandard work, within responsible zones to achieve production output and quality targets. Requestsand directsresources necessary to accomplish group goals and objectives. Ensures that all zone team membersare adequately trained, understand quality, productivity, and that they perform in a manner that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement. Evaluatesperformanceand moralof team members, disciplines within approved guidelines, ensures that training and development of team membersis on-going, and recommends promotions, transfers, terminations and wage adjustments. Workswithsupportingdepartments to address safety, quality or productivity issues in a timely manner. Ensuresproduction work is properly staged and ready in an effort to eliminate zone area down-time. Strives to becapable of performingall activities within assigned zone, including running equipment. Maintainsand enforcescompany rules and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance throughout the company. Actively promotessafety and safe working requirements in all areas of responsibility. Is involved in the day-to-daydirectionof all employees andensurescompliance with company policy and work rules, GMPs,and safety requirementsare met. Cultivatescontinuous improvement activities, manages 5S and applieslean thinking into the day-to-day operations within all areas of responsibility. Providesa challengingand supporting environment forteam members to continuously improve results. Supportsperformance management process and is aligned with organization’s overall goals.Attends and leads Floor Management Development System (FMDS) meetings in assigned zone. Is actively engaged in the organization’s process-improvement Hoshin-goals and strives to complete all assigned activities. Plays an instrumental part in the development ofstrongleaders within the team. Embraces administrativeresponsibilities for zoneand holds overall accountability for: payrollattendanceprocess, disciplinary actions, manpower requests, etc. Assistsin special projectsand any other duty as assigned. Pay Range: $73,000 to $89,000/yr Qualifications Associate’s degreeora High School Diploma or equivalentis required. 2-4yearsrelatedexperience in food manufacturing environment.
