The OTR CDL A Driver operates a company vehicle to transport freight over long distances, handling a balanced mix of routes. This role requires solo driving with adherence to safety and regulatory standards, managing flexible schedules that include overnight and daytime trips. The driver ensures accurate documentation, safe load securement, and timely delivery while providing professional customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicle for long-haul freight transportation
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Secure loads safely to prevent damage during transit
- Navigate using GPS and planned routes
- Comply with hours of service logging and safety regulations
- Manage delivery and freight documentation accurately
- Handle fuel management throughout trips
- Engage professionally with customers during interactions
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of truck driving experience
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Knowledge of commercial driving and route planning
- Experience with vehicle inspection and GPS navigation
- Strong adherence to hours of service compliance and safety
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Problem-solving ability in various driving conditions
