Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother/Baby

Overview Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse to work a 14‑week traveling assignment on the Mother‑Baby unit located in Norfolk, VA. The assignment will be on a rotating shift schedule with some on‑call coverage required (two 12‑hour shifts per six‑week period). The pay rate for this position is $70.00 per hour. Responsibilities Provide nursing care for postpartum mothers and their newborns on a 30‑bed Mother‑Baby unit. Assess and monitor the health and wellbeing of both mother and infant during the post‑partum stay. Educate new mothers on infant care, feeding, cleaning, and bonding practices. Respond to high‑risk newborn situations and manage medication protocols such as magnesium drips. Participate in on‑call coverage, attending two 12‑hour shifts per six‑week cycle. Qualifications Virginia or Compact Multi‑State Registered Nurse license in good standing. Minimum of two years of current Mother‑Baby hospital RN experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Experience caring for high‑risk newborns and managing magnesium drip protocols. Benefits No benefits (temporary full‑time position).
