Job Description - Security Officer Armed - Full Time (Southampton Hospital) (2504257) Job Description - Security Officer Armed - Full Time (Southampton Hospital) POSITION SUMMARY The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing a higher level of protection for the Staff, Patients and Visitors. RESPONSIBILITIES Protect the Patients and the Staff by utilizing effective armed security patrols. Protect and Safeguard Hospitals assets. Member of the Fire Control Team/Protect Fire Scene. Investigate and document security incidents. Assigned to special assignment that requires an armed security presence. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS HS Diploma or equivalent. New York State Driver's License. Active New York State Armed Security Guard License. Possess a valid Pistol Carry Permit listing the possession of a 9mm. Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 Months of Hire. Prior law enforcement/security/fire safety experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods of standing and walking. As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs. Anticipated Pay Range The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.
