About the Role : We are looking for a Cake Decorator / Pastry Chef to join our team in New York, NY! This is an exciting opportunity to bring artistry and culinary expertise together, crafting stunning and delicious creations for our customers. If you have a passion for pastry and an eye for detail, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:- Design and execute custom cake decorations including fondant work, piping, and sugar art
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and confections to order and for display
- Collaborate with customers to fulfill custom cake orders and special requests
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, flagging restocking needs as necessary
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation across all baked goods and decorated items
- Stay current with pastry trends and introduce new techniques and designs to the menu
- Proven experience as a Cake Decorator, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen or bakery
- Proficiency in cake decorating techniques including fondant, buttercream, and piping
- Strong knowledge of baking methods, pastry arts, and confectionery production
- Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong artistic and creative eye
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused, team-oriented attitude
