Philanthropy Assistant

$55k - $65k

The Philanthropy Assistant is responsible for supporting the administrative needs of the Philanthropy Team, overseeing the office management of Bowman House including calendar and budget support; logistics coordination; and data entry and clerical needs.Compensation for this position will generally be offered in the range of $55,000 - $65,000. Individual offers will be specific, and based on education, experience, and benchmarking parameters.Essential FunctionsServe as the office manager for Bowman House including the ordering of office suppliesCoordination and scheduling of events and meetings for the Chief Philanthropy Officer and team as neededGenerate gift acknowledgment letters, receipts, and tax documentation for donations as requiredPartner with the Business Office to manage and coordinate general accounting of gifts, monthly reconciliation, and annual audit requestsAssist with event activities including processing gifts, recording RSVPs, and providing staff support during events as requestedOther duties as assignedMust have a college degree and at least 3-5 years professional experience in fundraising.Additional ExperienceDemonstrated ability with technology platforms such as Zoom, Slack, and AsanaDemonstrated experience with fundraising databases - Raiser’s Edge preferredMust have working knowledge and skillset with the Microsoft Office and Google suites of productsAdditional RequirementsA commitment to the McDonogh mission and valuesA results-oriented, proactive, strategic thinker with a high degree of integrityAbility to effectively manage and motivate volunteersAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all timesCommitment to continued learning (personal and team) and development on issues of Diversity, Equity, and InclusionDemonstrated ability to organize time, handle multiple priorities and deadlines, be self-motivated and able to participate effectively in a teamExcellent organizational, listening, and analytical skills and someone driven to set and reach challenging goalsStrong computer and analytical skillsStrong initiative, creativity, and attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills and a thorough understanding of individual and special gift fundraising principlesWorking ConditionsEvening and weekend hours may be required. Lifting and carrying of equipment is not typical but may be required on rare occasions. Lifting up to 25 pounds.
