Public Finance Associate

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Public Finance Practice Group in Tysons, Virginia. The successful candidate will work with a team that guides clients through various tax‑exempt and taxable financings across multiple sectors, including healthcare, energy, and higher education. Duties Review, draft, and analyze credit support, tax, construction, and management agreements. Draft and negotiate financing and offering documents, certificates, and opinions. Review and analyze complex federal tax issues. Collaborate with public and private clients in diverse industries. Requirements 2–4 years of experience in debt finance, public finance, or project finance at a top 100 law firm. Experience with real estate, secured lending, and tax‑exempt finance transactions. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with client, business, and legal teams. Strong academic record with excellent writing and oral communication skills. Virginia Bar membership required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Active Virginia Bar license. Skills Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents.
