Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Circulator

Location

Carlsbad, New Mexico

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4x10-hour shifts | Call required (minimum 1 weekday per week, possible weekend rotation)

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases across a variety of specialties in a 6-room operating suite performing approximately 250–300 procedures per month
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for patient care in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other OR personnel to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards
• Ensure availability and readiness of surgical supplies, maintain timeliness of cases, and update physician preference cards
• Communicate with patient families and serve as a liaison throughout the surgical process
• Supervise and support personnel delivering patient care within the surgical department

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, urology, and trauma
• Robotic surgery experience required (da Vinci system)
• Adult and pediatric patient care experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a community or critical access hospital setting
• Familiarity with 1:1 patient ratios in a high-volume OR environment
