Director of Data Engineering

Leading the engineering division of the Data and Analytics organization, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will define the technical roadmap, manage a team of engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure data infrastructure supports business objectives and AI integration. Key responsibilities Define and drive the technical roadmap for data platform and analytics engineering, ensuring seamless data ingestion, transformation, and modeling Lead and develop engineering managers and their teams, fostering a high-performance culture and effective planning Serve as the primary liaison for data engineering across various departments, translating business needs into engineering priorities Required qualifications 8-10+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles, with at least 5 years in people management Strong technical credibility in data platform and analytics engineering, with experience in dbt and Databricks Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams or workstreams simultaneously in a technology company Proven ability to prioritize across competing demands and translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders AI native mindset, actively using AI tools and understanding their impact on data engineering practices
