The System Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team plays a foundational role in the company's success, responsible for constructing the safety case and fail-operational design for our autonomous driving robots before public road deployment. You will be part of an organization with strong leadership and a transparent, respectful culture that enables you to reach your full potential.In this role, you will:Oversee and manage the end-to-end SDMA clearance process, ensuring all program stages are executed efficiently while ensuring scalable and robust processes are implemented as the company expandsLead a team of Technical Program Managers, providing guidance and support for multiple concurrent clearance programs, including live service, early milestone, and clearanceDevelop and drive program schedules, milestones, and deliverables related to the safety and clearance of our autonomous robotaxiServe as the primary point of contact for all clearance-related activities, facilitating communication and collaboration across cross-functional teamsDefine and manage the scope and timeline for the various clearance activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to the clearance programs while managing dependencies across various teamsReport on program status, risks, and progress to senior leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and timelinesQualificationsAt least 8 years of experience in technical program management, with a proven track record of shipping complex, safety-critical systemsExperience managing and leading teams of program managers or technical leadsBS or MS in an engineering discipline or equivalent experienceComprehensive knowledge of complex hardware and software development lifecyclesExperience in program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SmartsheetBonus QualificationsExperience with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 or other safety-related standards (e.g., IEC 61508, DO-178C)Experience in the autonomous vehicle industryFamiliarity with systems engineering and requirements management$205,000 - $284,000 a yearBase Salary RangeThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
