Nurse Practitioner

Job Details Job Location: 2630 Grant Line Road, New Albany, IN 47150. Education Level: 4 Year Degree. Travel Percentage: Negligible. Job Category: Health Care. Schedule Full time - hospital and clinic coverage, occasional weekend and holiday coverage. Responsibilities New inpatient consults, inpatient follow-up visits. Provide care to patients in the following settings: routine follow-up visits in the office, urgent follow-up visits in the office, urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits. Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results). Participate in clinical continuous quality improvement activities. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures. Administer medications and injections. Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions; provide patient education. Maintain and review patient’s records, charts, and other pertinent information. Triage patient telephone calls and provides consultation. Qualifications Registered Nursing license as well as having met the degree level required by each state to obtain an NP license. Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority. Strong interpersonal skills; knowledge of billing services is required; understands the physician/NP/Patient relationship. Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board. Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
