Registered Nurse, Charge (Westover)

Job Title: Registered Nurse, Charge (Westover, MD) Talantage, LLC is seeking a full‑time Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to provide leadership and clinical oversight during assigned shifts within a correctional healthcare setting. The Charge RN is responsible for supervising nursing and support staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high‑quality healthcare services. This role works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Nursing Supervisor and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients. Key Responsibilities Provide supervision and leadership to nursing and support staff during assigned shifts Coordinate and oversee daily clinical operations to ensure continuity of care Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team Respond to medical emergencies and provide clinical guidance in urgent situations Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols Monitor patient conditions and report changes to appropriate medical personnel Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure staff accountability and performance Support staff training, orientation, and ongoing development Promote infection control practices and maintain a safe, secure environment Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, and administration Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required); BSN preferred Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland Current BLS/CPR certification Current tuberculosis (TB) screening/documentation Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a hospital, outpatient, or long‑term care setting preferred Prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred Experience in correctional healthcare preferred Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening Work Environment Correctional facility setting Requires adherence to strict safety and security protocols Fast‑paced environment requiring strong clinical judgment and decision‑making Talantage, LLC is committed to presenting candidates that contribute to an organizations culture of inclusivity and its commitment to diversity in the workplace are demonstrated through our recruitment practices.
