POSITION SNAPSHOT

The Director of Operations provides senior leadership and accountability for operations, projects, and teams across multiple markets. The role oversees operational leaders to ensure safety, quality, customer satisfaction, production, financial performance, compliance, and overall operational success.

The Director maintains visibility into performance, resources, risks, and priorities while providing support and direction when challenges arise. This role requires a self-directed, decisive leader with strong communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Using the company's EOS operating structure, the Director drives accountability, resolves issues, and ensures commitments are delivered. The role also supports customer relationships, business growth, leadership development, operational consistency, and the company’s Core Values, Mission, and Vision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Accountability: Lead and develop Operations Managers and assigned leaders through clear expectations, delegation, communication, and accountability while championing company values.

Multi-Market Operations: Oversee construction operations and projects across multiple markets, ensuring customer commitments, production, financial goals, and company standards are met.

P&L & Performance: Own operational financial performance, including revenue, production, labor, costs, forecasting, and margins. Identify trends and take corrective action as needed.

Customers & Growth: Build strong customer relationships, identify market opportunities, and support business growth and expansion through effective planning and execution.

Workforce Development: Develop leaders and teams, ensure appropriate staffing and resources, and partner with HR to recruit, develop, and retain talent.

Performance & Reporting: Monitor key operational and financial metrics, identify risks and gaps, and provide leadership with timely, accurate performance updates.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations while driving continuous operational improvement.

YOUR ROLE IN ACTION

Lead & Develop: Lead Operations, Construction, and Project Managers; set expectations, delegate effectively, and drive accountability.

Multi-Market Operations: Oversee operations and projects across multiple markets, ensuring customer, production, financial, quality, and schedule goals are met.

Project & Financial Oversight: Monitor project performance, P&L, production, margins, and risks; provide hands-on support and corrective action when needed.

Customers & Growth: Maintain strong customer relationships, resolve issues, and support responsible business growth and market expansion.

People & Resources: Develop leaders and teams while ensuring appropriate staffing, subcontractors, equipment, facilities, and resources are available.

Processes & Performance: Drive consistent processes, operational standards, reporting, and continuous improvement across markets.

EOS & Accountability: Lead L10 Meetings and use EOS tools to maintain visibility, accountability, and execution.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure strong safety, quality, and compliance standards across all operations.

Collaboration: Partner with Finance, HR, Safety, Fleet, PMO, and other support teams to resolve issues and improve operational performance.

Continuous Improvement: Identify challenges, remove barriers, implement solutions, and improve efficiency and scalability.

Other Duties: Support evolving business needs across assigned markets, customers, and operations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive leadership in broadband, telecommunications, OSP, or related infrastructure construction.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop Operations, Construction, and Project Managers across multiple markets.

OSP Expertise: Strong knowledge of fiber, aerial, and underground construction, project execution, production, scheduling, quality, and subcontractor management.

Financial Management: Experience managing P&L, budgets, forecasting, revenue, costs, margins, and project profitability.

Operational Excellence: Ability to oversee multiple operations, monitor KPIs, identify risks, improve processes, and drive accountability and performance.

Resource Management: Experience planning workforce, subcontractor capacity, fleet, equipment, facilities, and other operational resources.

Customer & Business Growth: Strong customer relationship skills with experience supporting new projects, market expansion, and responsible growth.

People Development: Proven ability to build teams, develop leaders, and support recruiting, retention, and organizational growth.

Safety & Compliance: Strong commitment to safety, quality, OSHA requirements, customer standards, and company policies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across field, corporate, customer, and subcontractor teams.

Strong decision-making skills with the ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and provide hands-on leadership when needed.

Technology: Comfortable using construction, project management, financial, workforce, and reporting systems.

Travel & Requirements: Willingness to travel regularly; valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, background check, and drug testing required.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Combination of office, customer, and active construction-site work across multiple markets.

Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, and navigate uneven terrain and typical construction conditions.

Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

Must be comfortable working around weather, noise, traffic, equipment, and other field conditions.

Requires frequent use of digital communication, project management, and reporting tools.

Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when operational or customer needs require.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

Primary work location is a designated company facility, with regular presence at regional offices, customer locations, and project sites.

Regular day and overnight travel is required based on business, customer, and operational needs.
