Direct Care Tech - Innova Joy New Braunfels

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer medication to clients (Medication pass experience preferred)
• Deliver quality care to clients within a residential setting
• Provide supervision of clients while on shift
• Provide appropriate documentation as needed
• Work cooperatively with team members and the client in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the treatment plan
• Lead various mental health therapy groups following a provided curriculum
• Be available in times of crisis or in intense situations
• Empathetic people who can hold loving and firm boundaries
• Creating and leading mental health groups

• Responsible working with minimal oversight
• Patient and compassionate with client's emotional and psychological needs
• Basic mental health understanding and an understanding of client's emotional, physical, and personal boundaries

• Dependable and consistent in attendance for scheduled shifts

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices utilized in clinical interventions
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record
• Knowledge of ethical code and requirements of mandated reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

• Understanding of mental health practices (experienced)
• Prior residential experience preferred
• Certification as a Medical Assistant - MA (preferred), Certified Medication Aide - CMA

(preferred), Certified Mental Health Technician - CMHT (preferred)

• Post high school medical education (para-professional nursing, medical, and/or technical)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse students, Social Work students, Psychology students
• First aid/C.P.R. (preferred)
