Affordable Housing Assistant Property Manager – Minneapolis, MN

Pay: $25–$28/hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Minneapolis, MN

Career Strategies is hiring an experienced Affordable Housing Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of an apartment community in Minneapolis, MN. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in affordable housing, leasing, resident relations, and housing program compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of an affordable housing apartment community
• Support the Property Manager with leasing, occupancy, resident relations, and administrative duties
• Process rental applications, move-ins, move-outs, and lease agreements
• Assist with annual recertifications, interim certifications, and income verifications
• Maintain accurate resident files and affordable housing compliance documentation
• Support compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, and other affordable housing programs
• Respond to resident questions and concerns professionally
• Assist with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and account records
• Coordinate maintenance requests, apartment inspections, and unit turnovers
• Follow up with prospective residents and assist with leasing activities
• Maintain accurate property records and update property management software
• Prepare reports and assist with other administrative responsibilities
• Follow Fair Housing regulations and company policies
• Work closely with the Property Manager, maintenance team, vendors, and residents

Qualifications

• Previous affordable housing, property management, or apartment leasing experience preferred
• Experience with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Tax Credit, or other affordable housing programs strongly preferred
• Previous Assistant Property Manager, Leasing Agent, Property Manager, or Community Manager experience is a plus
• Understanding of affordable housing compliance and resident certification requirements
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and leasing procedures
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Computer proficiency and property management software experience preferred
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently and as part of a team
