Principal/Sr. Principal Software Engineer

Job description: Principal/Sr. Principal Software Engineer opportunity in South Colorado Springs paying $155K$160K. The team is looking for someone with an active DoD Secret clearance, strong C++ development experience, hands-on CUDA expertise (including libraries such as cuFFT and cuBLAS), Linux development experience, and a background in signal data processing. Experience supporting radar-related systems is especially valuable.
This role supports the DARC program and combines hands-on software development with architecture, integration, and Agile-based engineering efforts.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Principal Software Engineer supports the DARC program based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role provides technical expertise in software architecture, development methodologies, system integration, and emerging technologies.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software, and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.
• Establish and maintain software development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve system capabilities and development efficiency.
• Support Agile development processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical reviews.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience including enterprise system development.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application
• At least 2years of experience with CUDA, including libraries like cuFFT and cuBLAS
• At least 5 years of experience with C++
• At least 2 years of experience with Linux
• Experience with some form of signal data processing
• Experience with radar systems preferred
• Experience with radar signal processing preferred
• Experience with NVIDIA MatX library preferred
• Experience with Docker or podman preferred
• Self-starter, able to take minimal direction and go off on their own
