Direct Support Professional

This role is responsible for delivering compassionate, person-centered care while supporting residents in achieving their individualized goals in a safe, structured, and therapeutic home environment. The DSP works closely with the Lead Staff, Administrator, Assistant Administrator, and clinical team to ensure high-quality services and compliance with all applicable regulations, including California DDS, Title 17, and Title 22 licensing requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Care & Resident SupportProvide hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistanceSupport residents in daily routines, community integration, and skill-building activitiesImplement Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and behavior support plans as directedProvide supervision and support in a structured residential settingPromote independence, dignity, and person-centered careBehavioral SupportSupport individuals with behavioral challenges using approved de-escalation and redirection techniquesImplement behavior intervention strategies as trained and directed by the clinical teamObserve, document, and report behaviors, triggers, and interventionsMaintain a calm, therapeutic environment to help prevent escalationHealth & SafetyMonitor residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral well-beingMaintain a clean, safe, and organized home environmentFollow medication support procedures and health protocols as assignedRespond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and crisis situationsFollow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures at all timesDocumentation & ComplianceComplete daily progress notes, data collection, and incident reports accurately and timelyEnsure documentation meets DDS and Community Care Licensing standardsReport concerns, incidents, and resident updates to supervisory staff promptlyFollow all company policies, Title 17, and Title 22 regulationsTeam CollaborationWork collaboratively with Lead Staff, supervisors, clinicians, and fellow DSP team membersAttend required trainings, staff meetings, and in-service educationSupport smooth shift transitions through effective communicationQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health, or residential care preferredValid California driver’s license and reliable transportationAbility to pass background clearance requirementsCPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts if neededPreferredPrevious experience in ARF, ICF, SLS, ILS, or behavioral health settingsExperience working with individuals with complex behavioral needsCPI, Pro-ACT, or crisis intervention training preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents throughout the shiftAbility to lift, transfer, and support residents as neededAbility to safely respond during behavioral crises or emergency situations #J-18808-Ljbffr
