Automation Engineer 3, DSM PI Data Historian

The Automation Engineer 3, DSM PI Data Historian, will provide Engineering input on the design, implementation, configuration, and testing qualification of the hardware for an Emerson DeltaV control system. Once in Operations, you will be responsible for and have ownership of the ongoing support of the control system hardware, software, and infrastructure. We are guided and united by our Group Purpose of “giving our world more smiles.” Visit: Job Description What You’ll Do Perform Automation activities, such as code configuration, document development, and test execution within several process areas Deliver accurate and on‑time Automation work Create standard code utilizing medium complexity control strategies Collaborate with senior Engineers to develop (generate, review, maintain) various specification documents (e.g., user requirements specification (URS), functional specification (FS), design qualification (DQ), etc.) Collaborate with senior Engineers to develop (generate, review, maintain) various test protocols and functional testing documents (e.g., installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), etc.) Serve as on‑call support for Automation inquiries and troubleshooting Collaborate with other departments, such as Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Validation Other duties, as assigned Knowledge and Skills Effective communication, both written and oral Strong problem‑solving skills Ability to effectively present information to others Ability to interpret and demonstrate knowledge of an Automation subject area to internal partners Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field 5 years of Automation, Instrumentation & Controls, or other relevant technical experience Preferred Requirements 6+ years of Automation experience Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Will work in environment which may necessitate respiratory protection May work in Mechanical/Production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or Powered Industrial Truck Ability to discern audible cues Ability to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, visual acuity, including distinguishing color Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (30 minutes) Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (240 minutes) Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include writes, hands and/or fingers Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 10 lbs. 33 lbs.
