Competitive Benefits Retirement + matching Up to 4 weeks paid time off in first year Onsite childcare – Quincy 24/7 Wellness Center access Educational assistance opportunities Job Summary This position is responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling parking lots, protecting physical assets, responding to all security issues, and maintaining good working relationships with local law enforcement agencies and the Emergency Department. Officers will need to keep an open line of communication with Emergency Department staff and serve as the law enforcement liaison. The role requires the ability to lift, move, carry objects or persons, restrain combative patients, escort incarcerated patients, and assist law enforcement personnel to various hospital areas to maintain hospital policy. Officers specified to Emergency Department only will attend daily huddles. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital, demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. Obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of hire. Functions quickly and calmly in emergency situations. Attend daily Emergency Department huddles (Emergency Department officers only). Effective written and verbal communication skills in order to work well as a team and independently. Preferred Qualifications Typing and computer skills. Knowledge of security functions obtained through education or work experience (e.g., military, law enforcement, fire department, other medical response positions). Previous crisis intervention training and experience. License, Certifications, and Special Requirements Valid driver’s license. CPR/BLS preferred. Pay Status Non-exempt hourly.
