Overview: 
We are looking for an experienced line cook with strong time management skills and the ability to provide our guests with an exceptional dining experience here at Holiday Inn KCI's casual dining restaurant, Burger Theory!

Schedule (may vary):

• Weekday and weekend PM availability required, 4pm-12am
• Flexible availability preferred
• AM availability and/or weekend availability is a bonus! 
• Holidays as needed
• Overtime as needed

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to prepare various menu items.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.); check the quality of ingredients prior to use.
• Cook food with various utensils or grillers; check food while cooking to stir or turn.
• Grill, broil, or sauté menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications.
• Follow proper procedures in handling food to ensure health and sanitation guidelines are met.
• Use tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and avoid injury or damage to equipment.
• Assist in unloading trucks that arrive with supplies; store and rotate inventory.
• Clean work area, freezers, kitchen area, and dish area to ensure proper cleanliness is maintained; keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Demonstrate a professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar food service, kitchen, or line cook role is preferred
• Must have a food handler’s card or ability to obtain one
• Must know various cooking procedures/methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.), kitchen operations, food handling practices, and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
